Behind the scenes at DAB Craft Creations!

August 8, 2017

A few customers have asked how I make my graphic designs come to life. This question is what inspired me to blog and share my secret…

Let me start of by saying that I L-O-V-E my Cricut machine!

As stated in my previous blog posts, I have always had a passion for Arts and crafts. But Ohh how things changed for me when I was introduced to the Cricut Machine. I really owe it to my husband who purchased my first machine for me as a Christmas gift, my decorations have never been the same since!

My first love was the Cricut Mini. It was portable and super easy to use, it was great, for sure saved me time from hand cuting things (yes, pre-cricut days I used to cut by hand). BUT then last year I upgraded myself to the Cricut Explorer and discovered the Design Space! What can I say except it was a GAME CHANGER!

When I first looked at the web based Design Space, I was like a kid in a candy store! Endless available images, texts, and layers to work in, it was heaven! Need I say more, it was love at first click! Here are just some of the reasons why the Explorer and design space became my “go-to” for designing my creations. With the Cricut Design Space I can:

  • Upload any picture

  • Use fonts installed on my computer for FREE

  • Easily share files I design

  • Upload SVG files, PNG files and JPGs

  • Score without removing the blade.

  • Write with a pen, marker, embossing pen

  • Smart Dial, changing the blade pressure for different materials.

  • I can design my own images with free shapes.

  • Intricate cutting, even on vinyl and leather!

  • Print then Cut!

  • The Subscription is a great PLUS!

So now that I have shared my secret with you, I hope to inspire you to make your designs come to life.  My goal is to blog a little more often, sharing my ideas and techniques for making some of the products I created, so subscribe and stay tuned!
